The primary purpose of the endline evaluation was to assess the Impact of the Transit School and Retention Programme implemented in Eastern and Northern Provinces of the Republic of Zambia since July 2016 in line with the programme’s objectives and implementation framework, as well as to capture best practices, document challenges and make recommendations for similar future interventions.
The evaluation design employed a mixed methods approach that drew on both quantitative and qualitative data collection methods. In this regard, both secondary and primary information were collected and utilised to prepare the evaluation report. Literature reviews was utilised to collected secondary information. Three methodologies were used to collect primary information, and these included KIIs, FGDs and observations. A total number of 24 KIIs were consulted ranging from UNICEF, FAWEZA programme staff, DEBs, DRCCs and SAfE Overseers. For FGDs, a total of 20 FDGs (12 Learners/peer educators & 8 CAG members) were conducted at School and community level respectively.
